Welcome!

Hello Everyone! Welcome to your SW500 practice course. Most of you will be new to me and my "ways".

First, you will need to grow your comfort level with social/ electronic media. If you aren't checking your email and logging in to Blackboard- you won't know what is going on. It is your first responsibility as a learner to know what is going on.

TIP #1: Make sure you go into Blackboard (BB) under my profile and under email address put your favorite email address in (the one that you check all the time!). That way, everything that gets sent to you through BB gets forwarded to that account in case you don't check it as much as you should. You can't reply when it is forwarded it, but at least you know it is there.

Missing this one step because you think you will "do it later" may cost you. I can promise you this: when I give tips, it is always for a good reason.

Tip #2:
I have zero tolerance for Plagiarism. So, if you copy and paste, it is an F. Everything you write or post in BB needs to be your words. And if they aren't, they had better have quote marks around it with the reference (even if it is paraphrased).

Tip# 3:
Don't try to pass the course without a textbook. There are several ways to get the text- even electronically- even renting it, by chapters. All of the old "my textbook isn't here" excuses no longer work. It is your responsibility to have the textbook.
